My name is Julie, I have lived and worked in Stokesley and East Cleveland as a teacher in local schools for over 20 years. I trained to teach secondary English Language and Literature in 2002 and A Level English Language. In 2010, I added a Dyslexia Post Graduate Qualification and held the post of  Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator for a large North Yorkshire school. I have worked across Teesside as an education consultant for local authorities and advisor in schools to help children make progress in their education. I have worked in primary schools delivering targeted Literacy and Numeracy provision and been an exam marker for AQA. I know how important it is to empower children in their learning and how tuition can make all the difference to assessment and examination grade.

Unfortunately, it is a current reality that there is often a gap between what is taught in classrooms and what is being learned by young people, tuition is the bridge to help change this.

Over the last five years I have built a team of qualified tutors working with schools and local authorities. It is now time to extend our services with Conexus tuition, the only tuition franchise to be an accredited National Tuition Partner.  Conexus tutors understand the challenges in schools, the pressure in classrooms and parents’ desire to get the best for their children.

Everyone accepts how important it is in today’s world to receive a good education: good GCSE grades can improve life chances. I still remember my GCSE Maths tutor  who helped me to the GCSE Maths exam after I had already failed  it twice. This tutor took the time to understand where I was making errors and had the patience to help build my confidence to correct them. Without this vital tuition support, I would not be doing what I do now.

Understandably, GCSE examination season can be an anxious time for many students; our tutors meet the students where they are and quickly assess the current level of ability, charting a path of progress so that children can achieve the best grade the can. For our younger students the same applies:  our tutors will nurture self-belief which will quickly translate to the classroom and their confidence levels.
